Originated and developed by Art Swanson in the late 60's in Salt Lake City, UT to revive and update a classic and historical single shot sporting rifle - a revamped version of the Sharps Borchardt action with roller bearings in the falling block action. Ultimately, the project was purchased by Colt around 1970 and produced in 5 standard calibers of 22-250, 243, 25-06, 7mm Remington magnum and 30-06. I'm just getting this started so bear with me as I get it developed a little more. Here are a couple of beauties that were made with maple stocks - the Sharps 78 blondes! There is ALWAYS a serious interest here if you have a Sharps 78 or Colt Sharps you are looking to sell. Give me a shot before you send it to auction, wait and then get less than I will pay you!
